About Me

Who I am .

Bio

Growing up in a farming and ranching community in the Willamette Valley of Oregon provided me with a strong work ethic, resiliency, and perseverance.  These principles have guided me through life and enabled me to accomplish whatever I put my mind to.

My husband and I have lived and raised our family in Wyoming for the past 18 years. We have enjoyed all that Wyoming has to offer from its outdoor recreation to its cowboy culture of warm greetings, neighbors offering to lend a helping hand, and respect for the land and its beauty.

I began my career in elementary education in 2004.  I have taught first-grade inclusive special education classroom, fourth-grade gifted and talented classroom, and K-5 STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics). Education has always been important to me and I have instilled that in my children and students.  I believe it is important for a teacher to be a guide on the side and give students many opportunities to use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills.  I want my students to be lifelong learners and always seek to make the world a better place. I believe Nelson Mandela said it best, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”
