Reflection
Technology is a tool to make our lives easier. It should be used with purposeful intention to improve learning and retention of knowledge. Technology is woven into the LDT Master's program at the University of Wyoming. I have gained knowledge and understanding of how to critique and use it purposefully in design, engagement, delivery, and communication. The artifacts I have chosen reflect the intentional use of technology in a learning experience.

Narrative Media tells an intriguing story and motivates the reader to act. Stories connect people and our the foundation of our learning. Using video technology supports visual and auditory learners.
This project was to design and create a movie trailer for a Big Idea in a content area. A trailer should be less than 2 minutes long to catch the attention and motivate the audience.

The Hunt for Productivity
Productive Media is intended to simplify its users' lives. In the 21st Century, we use productivity apps on a daily basis and have a hard time imagining our lives without them. Yet, these apps seem to be evolving on a daily basis and it is important for an instructional designer to keep up with the constant changes. These apps can be integrated into the delivery of online learning.

Communicative Media
I meme it!
Communicative Media is very similar to Narrative Media due to the fact that encourages all users to communicate and interact. This form of multi-media may be synchronous (Zoom/Facetime) or asynchronous (gifs/memes). Social Media apps are also another form. These forms of technology should not be disregarded when it comes to learning. These could be other ways to reach and allow learners to reflect their knowledge and understanding.

I made an app for that!
This project took me completely out of my comfort zone. We were expected to come up with an idea for an app, design, and code it. I do have a basic knowledge of coding, so that helped. I am very proud of this accomplishment and encourage you to check it out.

Games are fun and engaging. They are a great way to introduce or review content. Many digital online tools are available to design a game and make your content interactive with the learner. In this project, I created a scavenger hunt for a 5th grade Computer Science class.

Another form of Narrative and Communicative Media
Podcasts are a great way to deliver information to the auditory learner. Integrating this technology into the design and delivery of content is valuable to teaching to all modalities. The idea of creating a podcast can be a little intimidating to the novice, but once you have created one the rest are a piece of cake. Enjoy this podcast I created on improving your memory.
