Podcasts: Auditory Delivery of Instruction

ITEC  5510 Communication in Distance Education

Lectures are very traditional in the brick and mortar classrooms.  Some educators may even warn you not to over lecture a content. However, in Distance Education, a podcast can shake some things up.  Podcasts are different from lectures or even radio shows.  They can allow "interviews to breathe, play with soundscapes, or dive deep into the details of an investigation." (Williams, 2021).

Podcasts can target niche audiences. There are so many different types of podcasts out there from comedy, music, how-to, and so much more.

This project required us to take what we know about instructional design, auditory learners, and podcasts to make one for an intended audience.  I had a lot of fun creating my podcast and chose to make a 5:25 minutes podcast on improving your memory. Check it out below.
