Design Proposal
ITEC 5560: Development of Instructional Systems
This was a semester-long project to develop a Learning Experience Design Proposal. The expectation was to describe and design elements of a lesson or module that had significance for my professional work, along with developing methods for evaluating its effectiveness and outcomes. The project was developed into three parts. I chose to create a computer science, learning experience for 1st-grade students focused on understanding inputs, processing, and outputs with robots by using Cubeletes, modular robotics.
-
Part 1: Developing the Context, Scope, and Rationale for the Learning Experience by using the Learning Experience Design Guide template.
-
Part 2: Developing Methods of Assessment - by creating metrics to evaluate the students' learning.
-
Part 3: Developing the Final Design - Bringing it all together and providing a polished proposal ready to present.
The expectation for developing the final design was opened ended to meet the diverse professionals in the class. I found this to be rather challenging and was proud of my final project.
